endless wait for visa

Hi, I did ms in USA. I just worked one month of my H1B and came to India for h1 b stamping and got stuck with 221g. . Is it unfair for US embassy to play with people lives. I struggled hard for 3 years to complete MS in usa. Embassy people in India are deciding the fate in 3-4 minutes. What a rip off. Its totally unfair for people like me who invested thousands of dollars in USA and struggled so hard .I am not from a software background, If i work in India i would get 15,000 rs salary. It will take almost 20 years to complete the debt I made for doing MS. I think i have to commit suicide .

I feel for you and apologize for the late publishing of this post. Your post reflects the pain and anguish that legal immigrant workers and students face in the process. I was in your spot at one point and spent several sleepless nights worrying about my student loan and what would happen if I didn’t land a job here.
It’s not all lost yet. There ARE ways out of your quagmire even if it sounds like there is none right now.

Or think about going to Australia or Canada where the salaries are comparable to the US and immigration is not as hard. Work on your professional skills so you become wanted in these countries.
May be these are not options for you, so I am not being presumptuous to suggest solutions without even knowing your exact situation. All I want to say is that there HAS TO BE a way out. You can’t just give up. What was your backup plan when you came to the US?
I hope you weren’t serious about suicide. I would not even think about suicide, that’s clearly only for cowards. You are actually putting us (the blog) at risk and demoralizing our readers.
Good luck - if you could study hard enough to get through the GRE/GMAT, pass your bachelors degree, go to a US university and complete your Masters degree, then you are already in the world’s top 5% (or better) of qualified people. You can certainly find a way to get out of your difficult situation if you have the will for it.

Hey Student,
The US embassy did the right thing for a change - lets hope they ban you forever from settling in the US - you are welcome to spend your dollars here go back and try to improve your country and earn a decent wage - not take away a job from a US citizen. The H1-B should only be a temporary visa of the last resort without a path to the US - now is the firm that employed you gonna go under ? No, they will eventually find an American for the job.

well..this is a website for people to express and seek solutions for their immigration problems.TRAT has no business passing sadistic comments on someone who is suffering so badly….you guys should keep people like TRAT away from this website…how would you guys feel if you were in the same position as the student..and someone said “I hope they ban you forever from US”..huh ? I don’t think you are sympathetic with this student..otherwise you wouldn’t have let anti-immigrants like TRAT to get sadistic pleasure from this poor kid’s situation..
