Are USCIS processing dates a complete joke?
USCIS recently updated their processing dates for several immigrant petitions including the I-140. See this post - USCIS Processing Dates Move Forward. Now that a full week has passed since the update was announced, we’ve had the opportunity to further track whether the processing dates are valid. Well, surprise surprise!! We think the USCIS processing dates are a big goof up. Check out the last few months of tracker information on the Trackitt tracker and on leading forums such as the Murthy Forum and the Immigration Voice forum and you’ll know that there are several from the April to July 2007 timeframe that are still waiting for I-140 adjudication. And I am not talking one or two folks, I am refering to at least a 20 or so individuals that I can personally name. It’s likely that the actual count is in the hundreds if not thousands.
We had posted earlier about a possible mistake on the processing dates page last month. We still don’t understand how they reported dates as of August 31, 2008 and then went back to July 31, 2008.
So, given all that, it warrants our new weekly poll - Do you really trust the USCIS processing dates anymore?

By reading your article it sounds that there has been approvals for cases earlier than March 2007, I dont think this is accruate, I have loads of friends who have Jan,Feb & March 07 cases pending.

That’s a good point Shah. There sure are several cases such as those. I am sure they’ve already raised the service request though, unlike the rest of us that got to do it recently when the dates moved to July 24, 07.

I just checked trackitt. They still process the EB2s with light speed, and there is very little improvement in EB3s. What the heck? July-Aug 2008, yes 2008, EB2s are getting approved. Who is gonna say STOP to this nonsense!!!

I filed a fiancee visa in July of 2010, the website says “3″ Months. One Month later it is changed to “5″ Months. It is now “7″ Months and I am told call back in 60 more days. Are these people kidding me ? They should let the IRS handle these cases.
I should have met a a girl from the Haitian Earthquake, she would have been here by now.

Hi
I wish to start a process to repeal 214(b).
My daughter who is a doctor applied for visit visa to appear for USMLE Step 2 CS (can be given only in US) was rejected. It is dehumanising for an individual to be accused of illegel immigration intent, particularly if the individual in honest.
214(b) cannot really stop anyone with dishonest intentions. Such individuals can pass simple lie detector tests.
214(b) basically is not in spirit of US contitutional values in 20th century. For a honest indivudual it is discrimination and possibly does involve profiling.
A nation that respects rights of war prisoners held outside of US cannot really continue with such provision.
It is about time US changes such absurd provisions which are unfriendly to foreign citizens.
I would like to drop this provision and even as a foreigner would like to attempt it.
Please suggest how I should go about it?
