Victor, congratulations!
I stumbled on this website while looking for some visa answers…Victor, how did you go about asking the congressman in helping you out with your visa? Did he write a supporting letter?
Thanks!

Congratulations Victor.
I would like to get in touch with you. I am on the same situation with my I-140. I have been trying to get my Senator and a congress woman to help me on reviewing the case. However, it is quite difficult and frustrating that they are not sure how or what to do. Could you be more specific about what the congressman did for you?

tj, Mike:
this is what I did, shortly after I found the congressman’s e-mail, I sent a thorough letter about my case; then he turned the case through his district aide and she established the communication channel between my case and USCIS. From what I perceived, this lady is some degree familiar with immigration issues so she asked me another details from my case. After two weeks, she came back with some answers from people at USCIS specialized in congressional relationships. Let me comment you that the “tone” of this people when writting to congressman is very polite and “soft”. From this point what I did was just sending bi-weekly e-mails to the district aide to get news. All news came in the time that USCIS people said through the e-mails, until the last one: “Dear…..district aide, I’m informing you that the case has been turned to the area supervisor and then it will be pulled to be worked by the adjudicating officer. This process will take 30-45 days. If you have any other question, please let me know.”
The approval of my case came after 20 days. The total time frame since my first e-mail to the approval was 9 weeks.
Good luck to you guys!!

Must be my lucky year. Dec 4, received I140 approval notice (I was already thinking of doing what Victor did). Two days later, Dec 6, I-485 email notice of card production! Hopefully, that is the green card. Can’t wait til I get card.
I’m EB2, I-140 receipt notice July 18, 2008 and filed at TSC. Concurrent filing.
I now believe that processing dates are not accurate or updated. I think it depends on a lot of other things…..job type, work skills, salary, job site, criminal/financial background, etc…..or I’m just really lucky.

Hi Victor, where do you live? I’m about to go to my congressman… did you complete the Privacy Act Consent form, or did your employer complete?
Thanks,
Andrea
