YAY!! Three year TN visas availble for Canadian and Mexican Professionals

This thread of Immigration Voice regarding the Three year TN Visa For Canadian and Mexican Professionals says it all. It’s good to see a happy positive tone from posters, a rare thing in the immigration world.
This bill will get signed into law tomorrow.
Still no progress or even signs of improvement for relief for EB3 I-140 [...]

I-140’s to be processed within 4 months from April 2009

http://www.immigration-law.com reported today:
10/08/2008: I-140 Processing in Four Months by April 2009?

This is a five-month old information which has just been released. This source of information indicates that the USCIS was hiring and training new employees and by April 2009, I-140 petitions might be processed in four months. It is [...]

A feasible solution to EB3 I-140s

I wrote the below comment to DHS’s journal last week. I hope somebody read it. There is a fair solution to this issue, and it is very doable. Here goes my comment:
——————————————————————————–
Dear Sir,
You see a lot of complaints on EB3 I-140s at NSC. They process EB2s but not EB3s. If they are going to wait [...]

Prepare for more delay…

More reasons why it is unlikely that I-140 or for that matter, I-485 processing will continue to remian sluggish (it can’t get any worse, it’s rockbottom already for most of us)
1. There was a surge in EAD Renewal applications in August 2008. USCIS plicy requires applicants to apply a maximum of 120 days in advance [...]

My Letter to AILA

Respected AILA Attorneys and Officers:
As you are aware, the USCIS has delayed processing I-140 applications, especially for EB3 filers from NSC? We’ve been waiting 18 months and cannot switch jobs because AC21 requires an approved I-140. Recently, reputed Immigration Attorney reported that they are processing the I-140’s that are not affected by retrogression, which confirms [...]

2 year EAD’s require I-140 approvals now

Two leading law firms have reported that the USCIS now requires that the I-140 be approved before 2-year EAD’s will be issued. Some of us may have been lucky and already received it.

More reason for USCIS to reinstate premium processing for I-140’s. Those that need the EAD will choose to go with premium processing, thereby [...]

Finally a response from the USCIS for the I-140 processing delay

Chris B from the USCIS Leadership Journal Team responded to an angry comment by an Anonymous immigrant about the processing delay on the USCIS Director’s blog post on the leaderhip journal.
The comment by the Anonymous user on 9/25 was:
It’s a well known fact that no body pay too much attention to the post here.. If [...]

Two more EB3 I-140’s from NSC approved today

http://www.trackitt.com/discuss/140/53498917/
More reason to believe that NSC is approving I-140’s based on Labor filing date for EB-3’s.
For EB-2 filers, I am not sure what’s going on. Yesterday, there was an approval for a non-concurrent I-140 filing that was applied in May 2008, while there are plenty of from June and July 2007 EB2 filers that are [...]

USCIS Ombudsman Teleconference Topics

The Ombudsman’s office acts as a channel for immigrants to communicate with the USCIC and regularly recommends improvements to the legal immigration process.
I wrote to them to include the I-140 Processing Delay and Request To Reinstate Premium Processing as a topic for a future conference. You can suggest the topic for future USCIS Ombudsman Teleconferences [...]

100 votes and counting…

We have 100 voters that expressed their answers to the poll. THANK YOU for your support. The more votes we have, and the more posts and comment about this delay, the more our chances of getting noticed
Here are some ways to reach out to the powers to be:
