Need your opinion on a new way to offer consultations here..
So I’ve been real busy - like all of us I guess. So hardly any posts off late. Haven’t had much of a chance to post. Some requests for consulatations have kept coming in. The feedback from the attorneys is also that they would rather log in and type in their responses to questions instead of scheduling time to talk. They want to be more selective about the ones that are worth discussing on the phone since many of the requests continue to be fairly straightforward cases.
Thanks to our attorneys (Attorney Shah Peerally and Attorney Matthew Oh) who graciously offered their time for no cost to help our members out. Based on the last several months of offering free consultations, it’s time to take a fresh look at it.
How about setting up a “question and answer” system on the site so anyone could post a question and get answers only from qualified people. Not just anyone. Would that be a useful service? Or would it be just like any other service?
If the feedback is encouraging, I might go ahead and implement such a system on this system. I am thinking of using WP-Answers for it. This site is based on wordpress so that was an obvious choice.
Anyone got any experience with this plugin? Any ideas/thoughts/comments are much appreciated. And donations to fund the purchase (or you could buy it for me from the above site - $89) or time to implement that on the site are also very welcome..
Thanks to all - hope to continue to make this site a platform for honest uncensored sharing of thoughts regarding immigration….regardless of who you are, where you live and who you support or hate…

Hi there,
I have been following this blog for a while and have found it tremendously useful in the articles and analysis on a wide range of legal immigration topics.
Perhaps the biggest one that is impacting most of the EB applicants is the inability to file 485. I truly appreciate the analysis on the availability of visa numbers vs the demand data vs the predictions on the potential movements but shouldn’t the focus be on uniting these EB applicants to inflict some sort of legislative change. The supply of visa numbers fluctuate and alleviate the pain only so much as we have seen the progress since 2007.
There is a grassroot movement in ‘Immigration Voice’ that probably is the best platform that EB applicants use to make their voices heard. Can this blog collaborate with ‘Immigration Voice’ to strengthen the divided EB community towards a common goal i.e. legislative change to abolish the 7% per country quota impacting Indians and Chinese.
On another note, I have been in this immigration boat myself for the past 5 years now and can contribute by way of shedding some light on the core issue and certain solutions as they surface. Let me know if I could pitch in here.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for taking the time to write and offering to help. I am not sure how exactly I could help IV. It’s certainly something to consider - thanks for bringing it up.
Your opinions/posts are very welcome here. I’ve created an account for you on the site and replied to you via email.
Thanks and look forward to working with you.

Hi,
I have found this blog yesterday, and cannot stop reading past entries. They are so helpful. I am a fresh H-4 holder waiting for GC application.
Setting up the “question and answer” is a very fine idea. Many people including myself will be appreciated for this support. In addition, if you could keep posting some of the “Case Sample” for many immigrant, it would be awesome, too.
Thank you so much for your effort.
I think I can support this project financially.
Contact me if we need to discuss about it.
Best Regards,

Atsushi,
Your post is very encouraging, thank you for the kind words. Someone needs to write about legal immigration - it’s just too big and too personal for too many people to let it be on the sidelines like it has been for years. I am glad real people ready this blog :)…
Thank you for offering to help. Let’s get something going here! I will contact you via email..
If anyone wants to pitch in in any way, please come forward!
